Fairgreen Neighborhood Garden
The Fairgreen Neighborhood Garden, is in its fourth season, with bees (apiary), worms (vermiculture), catchment (water collection tanks), compost, hops, 3 fruit trees, 15 individual garden plots and 7 common plots. If you'd like to garden with us, please email us. There is no fee to garden with us, but all gardeners are asked to volunteer 4 hours per month on general maintenance chores and if possible to do so during scheduled work days.
Children's Hour
Grow Youngstown, with assistance from First Books, Karen Schubert, and GY's Intern Josh Gross, has programming for young persons for 10 weeks, beginning on July 1st. We work with kids from our neighborhood, largely from Lora and Fairgreen, doing garden chores, a project per session and ending with journaling. Sessions are an hour and 1/2.
Garden Mob
We're trying something new ! We are descending upon local gardens to help with a project one day per month. This is a great way to see what other folks are doing, so please join us ! Please check out the dates at the left and email Josh if you plan to attend.
